Solar panels are composed of multiple PV cells connected in series and parallel configurations to produce the desired voltage and current. A solar panel's output is measured in watts (W) and is influenced by factors such as solar irradiance, temperature, and angle of incidence.

The electricity produced by solar panels is direct current (DC). However, the grid and most household appliances operate on alternating current (AC). To bridge this gap, a solar inverter is used to convert the DC output of the solar panel into grid-compatible AC electricity.

Energy storage systems, such as battery banks, can be integrated into solar installations to store excess energy generated during peak sunlight hours. This stored energy can be used during periods of low sunlight or at night, providing a reliable power supply and reducing dependency on the grid. Additionally, backup power systems can be incorporated to ensure continuous electricity supply during grid outages. Eaglesledge plans to use these storage units to never require the need of oil/coal burned energy sources to power our refinery.
